General Rules and Regulations:

1. The Southeast PA Beef Classic Committee will take every reasonable precaution in safekeeping exhibits

and other materials/equipment, but will not be responsible for loss or damage from any cause including

fire or theft. All exhibits will be under the direction of the Southeast PA Beef Classic Committee, but

under no circumstance will the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex  be held responsible for any loss or

damage that may occur during the show. Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for any loss, injury, or

damage, done or occasioned by or arising from any exhibit entered by him/her and shall indemnify and

hold harmless The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, The Manheim FFA, and the Southeast PA Beef

Classic Committee against such loss, injury or damage in regard thereto.

2. Junior eligibility: Exhibitors must have passed their 8th birthday, but not have passed their 21st birthday

     by January 1, 2008.

3. Exhibitors shall conform to all requests of the management to lead out their animals for parade,

exhibition, judging contest, or other purposes. Refusal will result in forfeiture of prizes won and such

other penalty as the Beef Classic Committee may impose.

4. Pens and stalls will be assigned on the basis of the number of entries by each exhibitor. These

facilities are to be used only to tie or enclose livestock. In the case of animals entered but not

exhibited, management will reassign excess pens or stalls as deemed necessary.

5. To be eligible for junior competition, animals must be owned by the exhibitor, and the exhibitor must

take entire charge and care of their livestock except in the case of illness or some other reason approved

by the Beef Classic Committee. If there is a valid reason that the exhibitor cannot show their animal(s),

then another member who meets the junior requirements may show the animal(s); however, this member

will not qualify for the showmanship contest. Exhibitors not showing their own animals must notify the

show management before entering the ring.

Unethical or abusive activities are not allowed and will result in disqualification of the exhibitor from the

show at sole decision of the Beef Classic management (see Beef Classic Ethics Statement)

.

The purpose of the junior events is to learn by doing via hands-on educational experiences. Youth who

rely on professional fitters to perform activities in preparing their animals for show fail to gain these

     experiences.

6.  No person other than those holding animals being exhibited will be allowed in the show ring during the

time of judging, except the officials and officially accredited reporters. Any persons who cannot control

their animal may be asked to remove the animal from the show ring.

7.  It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to see that their animal is present at the specified time and place

     for weighing, showing.

8.  Exhibitors will be required to maintain their respective areas in a reasonably clean and orderly

condition at all times. Due to continually high cleanup costs, specifically in tie-out and cattle traffic

areas, any exhibitor who damages or destroys facilities, landscapes, or turf areas will be subject to

forfeiture of premiums and/or billed for repairs of the facility at the discretion of the Show

     Committee.

9.  Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up and removing all STRAW bedding at the conclusion of the

     show.

10. The displaying of farm signs, banners, etc. over exhibits is encouraged, however, these displays must

not interfere in any way with other exhibitors.

11. No animal showing signs of contagious or infections disease, or external parasites, will be allowed

entry to the show ring. Exhibitors must have all necessary health papers signed by an accredited

     veterinarian when entries arrive.

12. Any product administered internally or used externally to alter the conformation of an animal for

exhibition is prohibited. This includes the covering of white skin, false tail heads (or use of any false

hair), use of graphite, powders, hemp or other similar substances externally and any illegal/unapproved

steroids, growth stimulants or artificial filling internally. Any animals or exhibitors found to be in

violation will be barred from showing. The exhibition of cattle displaying false hair will not be allowed.

13. Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited on the Southeast PA Classic premises, if alcoholic beverages are

found, then those individuals and their associated parties (exhibitors) will be asked to leave the

premises and forfeit any and all premiums.
